Labourer on bail for allegedly handling stolen lumber

A 53 year old labourer of Kingstown alleged to have been in possession of lumber obtained in questionable circumstances is to reappear in court on January 25, 2023 to answer to the charge.

According to a police release, Bernard Shallow was arrested and charged with the offence of handling stolen goods on Friday, October 28, 2022 at about 5:30 p.m.

According to the release, at about 11:45 p.m on Thursday, October 27, 2022, the accused allegedly had in his possession at Melville Street, Kingstown four lengths of lumber, reasonably suspected of being stolen or unlawfully obtained.

When Shallow appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate on Monday, October 31, he pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of $1000.00.

The matter was adjourned to January, 25 next year for trial.
