Men granted bail on cocaine charges will be tried in Serious Offences Court on Monday

Two men who were found with cocaine in their possession will be tried in the Serious Offences Court after they pled not guilty to the charges against them.

Lawrence Abraham, a resident of Paul’s Avenue, and Cornelius Johnny, a resident of Rose place both appeared in the Kingstown Magistrates Court on October 24, before senior magistrate, Ricky Burnett on two separate charges of having cocaine in their possession.

Abraham was charged that on October 22, at Paul’s Avenue, he had in his possession a controlled drug to wit 4.23 grams of cocaine with the intent to supply it to another. Johnny was charged that on October 23, at Rose Place had in possession a controlled drug, to wit 4.02 grams of cocaine with the intent to supply to another.

Both men pleaded not guilty to the charges and the prosecution did not object to bail.

The senior magistrate granted each bail in the sum of $1,500 with one surety and the matters are adjourned and transferred to the Serious Offences Court to be heard on October 31.
