Former insurance agent accused of theft of clients’ money

A FORMER WORKER of Massy United Insurance Ltd has been charged with stealing money from clients of the company.

Ranold Iton, 36 years of Georgetown, appeared before Senior Magistrate, Rickie Burnett at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on Friday, May 20.

Although currently unemployed, he reportedly worked with the Insurance company until March of this year.

The allegations against the defendant are that between January 31, 2022, and March 1, 2022, at Villa, he stole $4600 in cash, the property of Montgomery Daniel of Sandy Bay.

Secondly, that between June 30, 2021 and August 1, 2021, at Villa, he stole EC$1200 in cash, the property of Josiel Mornix of Cedars.

Investigations are said to be ongoing into other similar matters.

Station bail was continued for Iton and the cases

have been adjourned to July 12.
