Kingstown man charged with attempting to smuggle items into the prison

Glenroy Browne, a 52 year old labourer of Kingstown appeared in the Kingstown magistrates court on Tuesday, May 3 where he pled not guilty to a charge of attempting to introduce prohibited articles into Her Majesty’s Prison.

The police said in a release that Browne was arrested and charged with the offence on April, 29.

Investigations revealed that Browne allegedly, without lawful excuse, attempted to introduce into Her Majesty’s Prison a black plastic bag containing one (1) white adapter and seven hundred and twenty-eight grammes of cannabis; and a transparent bag containing (1) white adapter and three hundred and thirty-seven grammes of cannabis which are prohibited articles. This is said to have taken place in Kingstown around 3:48 a.m on February 23, 2022.

Browne’s matter was adjourned to August 31,2022.
