Man who stole $2500 from cop ordered to pay compensation

A man who pled guilty of stealing EC$2,500.00 from a police officer was ordered to pay compensation in the sum of EC$2,500.00 by December 15, 2021or spend three months behind bars.

Wendell Nelson, a contractor of Redemption Sharpes was also bonded for one year in the sum of EC$2,000, in default of which he will pay the EC$2,000.00 forthwith or spend six months behind bars.

This was the penalty handed down to the 42 year old contractor when he appeared in the Kingstown Magistrates Court on Monday November 22.
The police said the theft occurred in Kingstown between October 26 and November 2021.

Nelson pleaded guilty when he appeared in court.
