Man arrested after trying to slip prisoner ‘high leaf’ at Court

Police officers apprehended a man on Wednesday, after he tried to slip an item to a prisoner at the Serious Offences Court.

Keon Scott, who had given himself up on Tuesday after escaping police custody last Friday, was making his way through the court’s waiting area, when an officer spotted the man trying to hand him a small transparent bag containing ‘high leaf’ tobacco.{{more}}

The officer immediately arrested the man and placed him at the back of a police vehicle, as a woman who appeared to be his mother tried to negotiate her son’s release with the police.

The incident occurred shortly after Scott was sentenced to 12 months in prison for escaping police custody last Friday.(AS)
