Man pleads guilty to cannabis possession, fined $5,700

Yesterday at the Serious Offences Court, Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias seemed surprised that Calvyn Robertson was brave enough to have in his possession a large amount of cannabis at the Grenadines Wharf.{{more}}

On June 5, police constable Toney and police constable Jordan approached Robertson and requested a search after they saw him acting suspiciously.

Robertson agreed to the search and two packages containing 2,604 grams of cannabis were discovered.

The officers took Robertson to the CID office, where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to supply.

Robertson pleaded guilty and was fined $5,700.(CA)
