When he appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, St John pleaded not guilty to the unlawful discharge of a firearm at Casbert Jordan, 52, also of Ottley Hall, on April 13, 2014.

The 25-year-old man pleaded not guilty to possession of a firearm, make and serial number unknown and possession of one round of ammunition.

Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias granted St John bail in the sum of $50,000 with one surety.

As part of his bail conditions, St John will report to the Central Police station on Mondays and Fridays and surrender all his travel documents.

St John’s charges stem from the same April 13 incident involving his stepfather. It is alleged that John unlawfully and maliciously wounded the older man by shooting him in the upper left thigh during an altercation.

St John will answer to all the charges on August 7, 2014 at the Serious Offences Court.(KW)
