The Belair resident appeared at the Serious Offences Court on Tuesday slapped with seven charges.

He was not allowed to plea to the indictable charges.

Abbott is facing charges of making use of false instruments, to wit, Bank of SVG cheques in the name of different persons and inducing others to accept the cheques as genuine.

He is also charged with stealing 33 Bank of SVG cheques, the property of Kingdom Life Ministries.

The offences are alleged to have been committed on January 15.

The Chief Magistrate granted Abbot bail in the sum of $5,000 and he was ordered to report to the Calliaqua Police Station on Fridays.

The prosecution intends to call seven witnesses in the matter.
