After a week on remand, Jonathan Bowens was granted $15,000 bail, after he allegedly shot a man in his abdomen in Ottley Hall on October 1.{{more}}

Bowens, 59, a watchman, stands accused of unlawfully and maliciously wounding Anthony Grant, 46, a watchman, also of the same address.

Bowens made his first appearance at the Serious Offences Court last week, when bail was not considered.

Upon his return to court yesterday, Prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche who had objected to Bowens’ bail on the first occasion, waived that objection.

He, however, asked the Magistrate that the accused provide a proper surety.

The victim in the matter sustained a gunshot wound after he and Bowens allegedly were involved in an argument at a shop in Ottley Hall, at about 9:00 pm on October 1.

The matter was adjourned to January 9, 2012 for hearing.(KW)
