Durrant granted $20,000 bail on fraud charge

An office attendant at KELECTRIC Co. Ltd has been released on $20,000 bail after being charged with fraud.{{more}}

Fransilma Durrant, who is still being investigated for theft of cheques to the tune of $120,000, appeared at the Calliaqua Magistrate’s Court on Friday, August 13, 2010, and pleaded not guilty to making false instruments and tendering cheques of $7,000 and $8,000 on two different occasions at Scotia Bank on August 6, 2010.

Police confirmed to SEARCHLIGHT that Durrant is still being investigated in connection with the disappearance of the cheques valued at $120,000.

She was ordered to surrender her travel documents and to report to the Calliaqua Police Station on Mondays. The case was adjourned to a later date for hearing. (KW)
