Police Constable 711 Shacky Green has been slapped with a charge of manslaughter; a week after a five-member jury found that he was responsible for the causing the death of Kamasha “Suicide” Alexander.

Green was the police officer who pumped four bullets into the body of Alexander, 29, after he claimed that the deceased lunged at him with a knife.

A post mortem revealed that he died as a result of multiple gunshot injuries. He sustained gunshot wounds to the neck and legs.

Green was granted $20,000 bail and was ordered to surrender his travel documents. He was also ordered to report to the Biabou Police Station. The matter was adjourned to May 10 for hearing.

On February 2, police officers, Corporal Kasankie Quow, Constables Osrick James and Hadley Ballantyne were each found guilty for assaulting Jemark Jackson on November 18, 2008 at the Criminal Investigations Department.

Jackson, 15 at the time, was kicked, slammed on the floor and beaten about his body with a garden hose. He was rushed to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital after which he fell into a coma and was placed in the Intensive Care Unit for one week.
