Pierre, of Richmond Hill, appeared at the serious offences court on Monday, November 23, 2009, and pleaded guilty to two offences: the possession of 1,036 grams of cocaine and the importation of the said amount of cocaine with intent to supply.

Pierre was found with the cocaine at the Kingstown Port by police officers of the Narcotics Division on February 30, 2009.

In mitigation, Pierre’s lawyer Ronald Marks said the accused was remorseful for his actions and that he pleaded guilty at his first opportunity instead of wasting the court’s time.

Magistrate Sonya Young said she could not be lenient, and imprisoned Pierre for his first offences — two years for the importation and two for the possession. The sentences will run concurrently.
