Speaking to SEARCHLIGHT on the balcony of the male surgical ward, Sutton said that he is puzzled as to why he was shot. “I think is a kinda revenge ting going dey dred,” Sutton related. He said that some bad blood has been brewing over the years in his community with some other villagers.

Sutton said that he was accompanying one his children to a barbeque that was taking place at the Langley Park School when he was shot. He said a friend had to place him on his motorcycle and carry him to the Hospital. Sutton said he thought he would not survive after being shot in his chest. He said that it is amazing that he is alive today because he was stabbed in his chest before and did not die. He related a chilling tale of what the doctors told him, “The doctors say if the bullet been go an inch mo I wuda been dead.”

Eighteen year-old Adonijah Cain of Langley Park was brought before the Serious Offences Court on Wednesday in connection with Sutton’s shooting. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded to her Majesty’s Prison. The matter was adjourned to April 5.
