Crosvenor pleads guilty to cannabis possession

Forty- four year-old Kittitan National, Ian Crosvenor had a double whammy on Monday when he was charged with having one cannabis cigarette in his possession as well as a deportation order against him.

Crosvenor pled guilty at the Serious Offences Court on Monday for having one cannabis cigarette in his possession on March 3, 2006. Magistrate Simone Churaman fined him $100 forthwith or he will spend seven days in jail.{{more}}

Information stated that about 5.40 p.m. Drug Squad personnel were on mobile patrol in the Barrouallie vicinity when motor vehicle RM546 was seen travelling towards the officers. The officers signaled the vehicle to stop and a search was requested on the vehicle. The cannabis was retrieved in the vehicle and Crosvenor was arrested and charged for the offence.

Crosvenor said he came here on February 11 and was only scheduled to be in the country until February 28.
