Rillian Hill teen on $10,000 bail

A Rillan Hill teenager is on $10,000 bail from the Serious Offences Court after he pled not guilty last Tuesday to having a Desert Eagle nine-millimeter pistol and 18 rounds of ammunition in his possession.

The court heard that a joint operation by the Drug squad and Rapid Response Unit (RRU) Personnel was carried out at the home of Ira Dunbar, an 18 year-old labourer, on December 31, 2006 at about 5 am.{{more}}

During the search, the unlicensed firearm was found under a carpet in one of the rooms. Dunbar was then arrested and charged for the offence.

He was also placed on a curfew from 9 pm to 5 am, and is to report to the Questelles Police Station and surrender his travel documents to the police.

He is to reappear in court on January 25 for his trial. Lawyer Bertram Stapleton is representing him.
