Vincentian woman a Judge

A Vincentian woman has been appointed to the position of Acting Judge for the jurisdiction of St. Kitts/Nevis, assigned to Nevis and Montserrat.

She is Ianthea Leigertwood, a former Crown Counsel, and Registrar here.

The announcement came last Tuesday at the Special Sitting to mark the opening of the New Law Year. {{more}}

This country’s Attorney General Judith Jones Morgan made the disclosure, as she spoke of developments on the legal circuit.

Nicole Sylvester, president of the local Bar Association was ecstatic about Leigertwood’s elevation.

Sylvester noted that the new Judge was nurtured on the Vincentian Court and welcomed the rise.

Justice Frederick Bruce-Lyle also endorsed Leigterwood’s appointment. He expressed the hope that it was the “start of greater things.”
