Guard facing charge

A thirty-one year-old security guard of Bequia was hauled before the Serious Offences Court on mainland, St. Vincent on Monday to answer a charge of burglary.{{more}}
Mc Carthy Quashie is accused of stealing jewelry and other items valued EC$5,224 from a yacht named “Moon Dance Cowes” which was anchored in the Bequia waters. The stolen items were said to have belonged to Andrew and Julie Lander of England.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge on Monday and was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 with one surety. As part of conditions of bail, he was ordered to report to Bequia police every Tuesday and Friday between 6.00 a.m.- 8.00 a.m. until the disposal of the matter. He is scheduled to reappear in court on May 19, 2004.
