Trevor, longstanding employee, is more than a familiar face

Trevor Morgan of Lower Bay, Bequia, is being recognised as the longest-serving employee of Lulley’s Fishing Supplies, having dedicated over four decades of service to the business.

For many in the fishing community, Trevor is more than just a familiar face, he’s part of the foundation of a company that has become a lifeline for countless seafarers. After all, it has been around for 75 years.

Working out of the Bequia branch located beside the fish market in Port Elizabeth, Trevor has seen the evolution of Lulley’s Fishing Supplies from a small operation opened 75 years ago, into a trusted name with different branches.

“I’ve been here 40 years,” he told SEARCHLIGHT proudly on Monday, June 23, “if I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t be here so long.”

Trevor’s journey into the world of fishing supplies was unexpected. Originally working in construction, he transitioned into the shop after the passing of Ross Lulley, the company’s founder.
