Climax continues to be a success – promoters
Promoters of Climax, the New Yearâs Day Cooler Fete have promised to continue to provide Vincentians with a top-class entertainment package in a unique setting.
Climax, which was held at Rawacou National Park on January 1, was the seventh installment of the event and promoters Nekes Jones, Tita James and Karen Veira have described the event as, âa smashing success.â
Jones, speaking to SEARCHLIGHT, said that the eventâs concept is one that allows patrons to bring their own drinks, and when introduced in 2012, was a new concept to the island.
This concept was somewhat of a breath of fresh air to partygoers, as financial restraints saw some people only being able to afford tickets to an event of this nature, but once inside, not able to afford to purchase the drinks and food they may want to.
âNever before were patrons actually allowed and encouraged to bring their own drinks to a fete. In this the seventh year of the event, dubbed âLucky 7â, Climax realized its largest turnout to date, and we the promoters are very grateful for the support of the Vincentian people,â said Jones.
The event saw entertainment from local disc jockeys, DJ CJ, DJ Icekole and DJ Diego; international DJs Trevlyn the Voice with Kenan Die Hard (Radio Announcer on 96.1 Trinidad and Tobago), Willy Chin (of Black Chiney Jamaica), Noah Powa (United States-based disc jock and Internet comedian) and Riggo Suave of New York also entertained.
Lil Natty and Thunder, the musical duo with their hits âDash itâ and âDirty Pantyâ, Grenadaâs 2017 Road March Kings also had the crown rocking. â
âClimax continues to be a favourite of the people of St Vincent and the Grenadines and that is made obvious by how much the event grows each year. We plan to continue to provide our people with quality entertainment and encourage everyone to stay tuned for Climax 2019 as we seek to make it even bigger and better than Climax 2018,â said Jones, who added, âthank you to the Vincentian public for your support; it is truly appreciated.â
Jones said that the event was made possible by FLOW (a repeat sponsor of the event and a valued partner), Third Element Sounds, for providing sound, lighting and the venue set-up, and the BOOM 106.9 family for their promotional assistance and media coverage of the event.(LC)
