Change your mindset-Change your behaviour

WHETHER YOU WANT to lose weight, stop smoking, or accomplish a major life goal, the main thing that must be addressed is your mindset. Your behaviour is directly influenced by the thoughts and beliefs you hold firmly to be true. If you think you can, then you will; equally so, if you think you cannot then it is very likely you wouldn’t.

With every experience in our lives, we are not just passive creatures reacting to what has been done. Rather we have the power and control to proactively create the outcomes we desire for ourselves. The thing is as human beings we are also prone to the default emotional reasoning, and this can distort the way in which we see a situation and how we respond. While emotions are powerful and can easily lead to embracing a less productive mindset, we have the executive functioning capability to override our initial primitive emotional reactions.

How can you change your behaviour in the moment?

Changing behaviour is not easy. It takes a lot of work and people often fail. So much so that many believe humans are incapable of change. People often fail to change because too much focus is placed on behaviours rather than the main inhibitor of successful change – mindsets.

The mind is a powerful tool. It can be our best asset or our worst enemy. A positive mind-set has the power to change our lives completely. It can help us achieve our goals, find success and happiness, and create the life we want. On the other hand, a negative mind-set can hold us back, keep us stuck in counterproductive patterns, and make us unhappy. mind-set change is therefore essential if we want to create lasting positive change in our lives.

Mind-set change is not always easy. It requires effort and perseverance. But it is worth it. When we change our mind-sets, we open new possibilities for ourselves. We can find success and happiness that we may have thought was out of reach. We can create the life we want to live. So, if you’re ready for a mind-set change, don’t hesitate – start changing your life today!

There are many ways you can shift your mindset to improve the quality of your life and propel yourself to success, including:

EMOTIONALWEAKNESS TO EMOTIONAL CONTROL.

Successful people don’t let negative experiences and events beyond their control affect their state of mind. They realize that our beliefs create our world, but we are in control of our beliefs. They are in charge of their emotions, mindset and lives.

NEGATIVE THINKING TO POSITIVE THINKING.

Positive thinking is associated with greater happiness, decreased anxiety, and improved physical health – all of which can help you on the journey to achieve your goals. One study even found that a positive outlook leads to success. There is also a theory that positive people are more likeable, which helps them build rapport, network, and get ahead in life.

FIXED MINDSET TO GROWTH MINDSET.

People with fixed mindsets believe that they can’t improve or grow – that they are stuck the way they are. With a growth mindset, you believe that when you put in work, you’ll be rewarded. You know that you can develop new skills, improve your relationships, and grow as a person. You look at challenges as opportunities, not obstacles.

EXPECTATIONS TO APPRECIATION.

So much frustration and disappointment in life can be avoided if we trade our expectations for appreciation. When you appreciate abundance instead of always expecting more – from others and yourself – you’re able to be present in your life and enjoy it to the fullest.

BIG CHANGES TO SMALL ADJUSTMENTS.

To shift your mindset, stop looking at life as an all-or-nothing situation. Often times changing your mindset happens in small increments. Small incremental changes in the right direction can change the world.

NB: Until we fully understand how to manage our thought process, there will be no change in behaviour. Many will be stuck in the place of reacting rather than fully grasping the power they have, to proactively navigate their way through life.
