Can you believe it, Black Friday is here again! Newsflash: Black Friday is not just another day so don’t treat it as such.
Black Friday can just be just as profitable as Christmas both instore and online. If you fail to plan, you will run into problems such as low inventory, out of stock items and annoyed customers. It’s one week away but if you act strategically and fast, you can make a lot of headway. These tips can help:
Give generously – If you have ever watched the comedian Oliver from Jamaica, those words would have already brought a smile to your face. When I say give generously, I mean be generous with your promotions. Now is not the time for a 10% discount. Nobody is going to get excited for a regular 10% promotion. Add something extra that isn’t being done elsewhere or that is done throughout the year and even if you did do 10%, maybe add a gift with purchase. Yes, people want to buy on Black Friday but they are not going for just anything that’s available
Learn how to optimize your products – People want to buy on Black Friday but some of them are either unsure of what they want to buy, or they can be persuaded. That’s where your guidance comes in – guide them to where exactly you want them to go and add a sense of urgency in your communication e.g., limited time only, only xx left, customer favourite. Where will you position your sale items on your site or instore? Have you considered doorbusters? Introducing limited -run items or even a countdown timer on certain products or services can increase excitement. A customer is more likely to make a purchase if they feel there is limit in supply or a limited time to purchase.
Be different and release a new product/service for Black Friday- Jumpstart interest in your brand with this tactic. As an n alternative to discounts and offers, you should consider ideas that will help to boost sales without lowering the chance of a profit. In addition to a new release, you can offer e.g. Early bird access/a sneak peek to the new product/service, free gift when this new service is used, % off on other products you sell when they buy the new product or use the new service.
Reap the rewards of increased consumer spending and offer value this Black Friday
