Vincentian, guilty of murder of UK pensioner, facing life sentence

A Vincentian in the United Kingdom has been found guilty of the murder of an old age pensioner and is now facing a possible life sentence in jail.

Xyaire Howard, 23, has been convicted of the murder of 71-year-old Susan Hawkeye who was strangled to death after being robbed.

Reports out of the United Kingdom state that after forcing the old woman to reveal her PIN number, Howard strangled her to death and wrapped her body in a duvet.

The woman’s body was left to rot in her living room while Howard and his Vincentian girlfriend Chelsea Grant, 28 went on a shopping spree with the woman’s money.

Grant was also charged with murder, but has been cleared of the charge.

Grant gave birth while in custody, before the trial began.

The senior citizen was killed on August 22, 2022 when she answered a knock on the door of her North West London home.

A few weeks earlier, Grant had robbed the pensioner by wrenching her handbag from her shoulder.

The young Vincentian couple reportedly made 135 different transactions using their victim’s bank card.

Hawkeye’s decomposed body was discovered by police on September 26, 2022 after neighbours had raised an alarm.

The couple have also both been found guilty of robbery, for which they will be sentenced on December 8, 2023.
