200 m senior boys record broken at St Vincent Grammar School after 48 years

Keo Davis broke the 48-year-old St Vincent Grammar School 200-metre senior boys record in a blistering time of 21.55 seconds, at the school’s 2023 athletics meet at the Sir Vincent Beache Athletics Track in Diamond, on Saturday.

Davis, of Millar House, erased the longest standing senior record at the school; 22.20 seconds which was set in 1975 by Christian Anderson, who was present at the track when his record fell.

Davis also ran a personal best time of 10.71 seconds in the 100 metre sprint, and both his 100-metre and 200-metre times surpassed the 2023 CARIFTA qualifying standards.

The athletics meet, the 100th instalment since the school was established on September 21, 1908, was won by Lopey House, followed by Reeves House, second; Millar, third; and Crick, fourth.
