Jury finds Veron Primus guilty of murder of real estate agent (+video)
Veron Primus has been found guilty of the murder of real estate agent Sharleen Greaves.
A 12-member jury took the better part of this morning, July 18 to deliberate before the unanimous verdict was declared at High Court Number 1 in Kingstown shortly after noon.
On the morning of November 13, 2015, Greaves’ body was found in her Bijou Real Estate Office in a pool of blood and a post mortem examination revealed that she had sustained multiple stab wounds.
The trial looking into the crime and the man accused of it spanned approximately one month before closing arguments and the judge’s summation to the jury took place last week. The court heard prosecution evidence that Primus had confessed his crime to a female with whom he had been having intimate relations. There was also evidence of a key belonging to Greaves’ abandoned vehicle being discovered by the police to be in Primus’ possession.
