Hospital admissions due to COVID19 down to one

There is presently only one person warded at a hospital in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) as a result of COVID-19 infection.

The latest COVID-19 Update from the Ministry of Health Wellness and the Environment said as at February 25, 2022 only one person is a patient as a result of COVID-19 and that person is unvaccinated.

This compares favourably with a few weeks ago, when the numbers of persons admitted to hospitals in St Vincent and the Grenadines as a result of COVID-19 remained fairly steady in excess of 20. On January 19, 2022, there were 28 patients admitted to the COVID-19 ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.

There are now 42 active COVID-19 cases in the country, with the positivity rate for February 25, 2022 being 1.49 per cent. Of 67 PCR tests done yesterday, there was only one positive result. There was also one positive rapid antigen test result.

To date, 106 people have died as a result of COVID-19 in St Vincent and the Grenadines. Of these, five were fully vaccinated, one partially vaccinated and 100 unvaccinated.
