Let Dey Be Peace In May

Let Dey Be Peace In May

Alas it’s Spring! May, de month of Growth and Fertility and May I add, de month of Peace and Reconciliation dis year 2025! Yes is Spring, Calm-ah-Law get back she Pryme Minister pose! De Ah-rob gave back Donald Chump ah 747 Boring Jet plane, and Ralph waiting foh his ver-shun of “See-Be-Eye Hell-ah-capped-her”

to fly from Gorse to de Complex, to avoid encountering de early morning trough-ache jam, one ah his sue-venir.

Yes dis is de month of May, named after the Roman goddess Maia, pronounced “My-ah” as in our Maia Eustace-Exeter. May is say-nom-he-mus wid de May-pole. De late (great) Doc Kirby, ah Veterinarian, man of wisdom, born wid an incarnate Carib Spirit, once explained to me bout de origin of de May-pole Dance. Dat Spring was planting time foh farmers; when de very fertile earth is warming up. De white slave masters were very superstitious. So during de moon-light before ploughing de lands and planting seeds, dey uses to mek de slaves dance in de same field, holding ah bamboo pole and strips of rope hanging from de top, den ordered dem to have sex right dey in de field. Nex day, still energized, dey plough’n’ plant de seeds.

Yes ah said May dis year is all peace and tranquility, and excitement.

Beginning wid de elect-shun of de first American born, Roman Cat-Lick Pope, Leo XIV on May 8th, 2025. Dat man Pope Leo brings to de table an aura of pervasive calm . Ah doh know how many candles he set to burn pon Satan, but no sooner he was made Pope, President Putin of Russia after three years of war wid Ukraine called for direct peace talks. Den on May 7th, one day before Pope Leo’s inauguration, India and Pakistan lined up ‘gainst each other foh War, after only three days of cross fire, de two Nay-shuns called foh ah truce. And nearer home in T’n’T, Calm-law is back wid ah different spirit, no intoxificare-shun, she is back hopefully, to foster peace in ah troubled Trini-dad-he-Toe-big-ooh”

REFUGEES OR FORMER SLAVE MASTERS

Ah saw ah story in ah US Newspaper way ah group of 59 white South Africans from ah expected total of 8, 000, arrived at Washington Dulles International Airport on Monday. Dey are permitted to enter de US as refugees, even though Trump administration has shut down refugee admissions from almost all other countries, including Afghanistan, Sudan, the Republic of Congo and Myanmar. And dis same group of 59 is from the ethnic minority of African Whites who ruled South Africa during apartheid. Dey are admitted under the argument that they are fleeing discrimination and racially based violence in their home country. Slavery in South Africa existed from 1653 in the Dutch Cape Colony until the abolition of slavery in the British Cape Colony on 1 January, 1834. Ah firmly believe dat dey’s Peace and Reconciliation in Christ. And wid dat is gone ah gone again.

One Love Bassy
