Experimenting with petroleum jelly – Beauty Tips

While experimenting with my last beauty tip, I realized that there are a lot more uses for petroleum jelly in the beauty arena, so I decided to dedicate this week’s beauty tip to petroleum jelly and a few of its numerous uses. Enjoy!{{more}}

Petroleum jelly can be used as a lip and face moisturizer. It can be used in the place of expensive lip balms, make up removers and facial moisturizers as it soothes the lips and removes foundation and other makeup.

Petroleum jelly can be used to condition the eyelashes and when mixed with a bit of dark brown eye shadow, can be used as eyebrow make up.

Customized lip colors can also be made by adding a bit of petroleum jelly to your eye shadow of choice and applying to lips.

People with wild, curly eyebrow hairs can succeed in taming them by rubbing a bit of petroleum jelly on them.

When doing home manicures, petroleum jelly can be used to make otherwise messy nail jobs look professional. Applying petroleum jelly along the base and sides of the nails prevents the nail polish from sticking to the skin and cuticles and makes mistakes easy to clean up.

By rubbing a bit of petroleum jelly on your pulse points before applying perfume, you can successfully extend the life of your perfume.

Petroleum jelly can be used to soften chapped hands and rough feet. Applying petroleum jelly before bed would result in soft, smooth hands and feet in the morning.

When mixed with sugar or sea salt, petroleum jelly can be great for exfoliation.

After a shower or bath, rubbing petroleum jelly over your wet skin can help seal the moisture in.

Petroleum jelly is not only used for beauty and health but also for household and mechanic maintenance. Though it is one of the most inexpensive and overlooked household products, I think we can all agree that petroleum jelly has earned its right as a necessity in our homes. All hail petroleum jelly!
