Coballt Racquet Sports Academy marks anniversary with Doubles Tournament

The Coballt Racquet Sports Academy hosted its inaugural academy Tennis tournament, on Saturday March 28, 2026 at the National Tennis Centre Villa.

The tournament marked the first anniversary of the academy and focused on Doubles matchplay.

Sanctioned by the SVG Tennis Association, the teams were divided into three categories based on their skill level: Rookie, Challenger, and Advanced.

All matches were of one short set, with the first to four games becoming the winner.

At the completion of the matches in the Rookie category, the pair of Nathaniel Sheen and Taien Henry was unblemished, winning all five matches against their opponents.

Elaina Grant and Shenia Edwards with a 4-1 win/loss record were second.

The Challenger category had two groups, each with four teams.

From the preliminaries, Martin Sheen and Cody Ince who were Group B winners went on to defeat Rio Marks-Dasent and Tarrell McNicholls, Group A winners, 4-0.

The Advanced winners were the duo of Miguel Francis and Arnel Horne who defeated Jaiden Bowens and Angello Morgan 7-5 in the final.

Francis and Horne had topped Group B, with Bowens and Morgan taking Group A. In all, 40 players with varying skill sets and competition experience participated in the one- day tournament.
