Vincy Pros top Tennis Team Tournament
THE QUARTET OF Afe Lucas, Afi Lucas, Keython Gaymes and Angeleah Providence inked their names on the tennis trophy, the emblem of supremacy in the Team Championship staged under the aegis of the SVG Tennis Association.
Named Vincy Pros, the Lucas siblings, along with Gaymes and Providence defeated Coballt, 3-2 in the final played on March 22, 2026, at the National Tennis Centre, Villa.
Making up the Coballt team were Loukhya Premraj, Taj Ballantyne, Arnel Horne, and Ethan Kent.
Taking third place was KBAG who had a 4-1 win over Fuzion in the play-off.
The KBAG’s team comprised Brandon Benn, Gabrielle Benn, Amarlia Lewis and Karen Anderson, with Angello Morgan, Danelle Kennedy, Suri Noel and Akquin Johnson, Fuzion’s representatives.
Vincy Pros emerged from Group B, twi twice winning all three matches versus Fuzion and Skorpion.
Likewise, Coballt twice had the better of Old But Gold, and overcame KBAG in their other match-up.
Old But Gold comprised Miguel Francis, Alexander Cyrus, Ariel Ryan, Mark Cyrus and Skorpion, who were rostered against Sebastian Cyrus, Akeem Guy, Malone Gardener and Jaiden Bowens.
The two-day tournament which began on March 21, saw each team engaged in two best of five series in their respective group.
Each series consisted of three singles matches, along with two doubles matches. The method of scoring was the super tiebreaker.
The group winners then played in the final, while the runners up sought honours in the third-place play-off.
The tournament marked the first year of the Dr. Preye Griffith- led executive of the SVG Tennis Association.
