SVGFF secures sponsorship from ED Laynes and Thomas Wholesale
TWO BUSINESS HOUSES have stepped up to offer sponsorship to the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation (SVGFF) in support of itsYouth Development Programme, and Tier-2 competition matches.
Laynes donated 50 book bags which will be distributed as prizes within the Federation’s Under-15 and Under-17 competitions, the SVGFF said in a release.
These bags, containing essential school accessories, will be awarded to standout players as “Player of the Match”, reinforcing both academic and athletic excellence among young footballers.
The sponsorship was formally presented by General Manager,Vilma Diaz De Gonsalves, who was accompanied by senior supervisor Racheal Cropper.
“Their presence highlighted the company’s commitment to youth development and community engagement through sport,” the SVGFF stated. Its public relations officer, Candy Fraser, expressing satisfaction said “…the partnership represents a positive step toward enhancing player motivation and support systems within the Federation’s youth programmes”.
The Federation’s second vice presidentYosiah Dascent extended his gratitude and commended the general manager and the business “for their generous contribution”, and emphasized the importance of corporate partnerships in fostering the growth of football at the grassroots level.
The SVGFF also received “a generous donation” from Thomas Wholesale,” to assist with upcoming Tier 2 matches.
The Federation said that the contribution forms part of their ongoing efforts to strengthen the “Road to VSPL” programme, which plays a critical role in nurturing talent and providing structured competition for emerging clubs across the country.
“In recognition of this valuable support, the Federation has announced that the competition will be officially named the ‘Thomas Wholesale Tier 2 Road to VSPL’.
Representing Thomas Wholesale at the presentation were ownerYvonne Thomas; store supervisor, Amanda Thomas; and manager, Steve Thomas, while the SVGFF was represented by marketing and public relations officer, Candy Fraser, and second vice president,Yosiah Dascent, who has responsibility for tournaments.
The SVGFF has also extended sincere thanks to Thomas Wholesale “for their continued commitment to the growth and development of football in St.Vincent and the Grenadines.”
The Federation said it continues to seek and welcome partnerships that contribute to the holistic development of its players, combining education and sport as pillars for national progress.
