Four named for Carifta Aquatics Championships
STVINCENT ANDTHE Grenadines (SVG) will be represented by four swimmers at the 2026 Carifta Aquatics Championships in Martinque from April 3 to 8.
The all-male team comprises Matthew Ballah and Hazen Da Briel who are in the 15 to 17 age group, along with Caghry Williams and Kione De Shong in the 13-14 age category.
Ballah is listed in the 50 meter and 100-m freestyle; 50-m, 100-m and 200-m backstroke; the 50-m breaststroke and the 100-m backstroke, with Da Briel competing in the 100 meter, 200-m and 400-m freestyle; the 50-m, 100-m, and 200-m backstroke, along with the 200 and 400-m individual medley.
Meanwhile, De Shong and Williams will duplicate as they both will compete in the 50-m, 100-m and 200-m breaststroke, the 50-m and 100-m freestyle; the 50-m and 100-m backstroke and the 50-m butterfly.
Tamarah St Hillaire in the coach, Janellle Ballah is team manager, and the chaperone is Brian George.
At the 2025 championships in Trinidad and Tobago, St Vincent and the Grenadines raked in six medals.
De Shong then, in the 11-12 age group, covered all levels of the podium, with a gold, silver and bronze medals, while Williams, also an 11-12 competitor, snapped a silver and a bronze.
The other medallist was Kennice Greene who returned a bronze medal in the 15-17 age category.
St Vincent and the Grenadines is looking to medal for the twelfth successive time at theCarifta Aquatics Championships.
