Edwards and Delpesche excel at SVGCC Meet
A SERIES OF dominant record-breaking performances by Amaia Edwards and A’jay Delpesche were among the highlights at the 2026 St.Vincent and the Grenadines Community College’s Track and Field finals at the Sir Vincent Beache Stadium on Friday, March 27, 2026.
There were 10 record performances, led by Amaia Edwards who topped the Female category with 35 points after winning gold and setting new marks in the Female high jump, triple jump and long jump events. Teia Laborde placed second with 30 points, while Zekisha Kelly was third with 26 points.
A’Jay Delpesche left the male pack behind to emerge the male champion athlete with record breaking wins in the male 100 metres, and 60 metre events, while also taking gold in the 200 metre dash. Delpesche amassed 30 points, while Darren Morgan-Jeffers and Jadelle Hector tied for second with 16 points each.
When the dust had settled, Sport Sciences ran away with the overall division top spot after amassing a total of 340 points. The Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies (DASGS), ended in second place on 259 points, while the Division of Technical and Vocational Education improved to third with 149 points.
Sports Sciences also topped both the Female and Male categories, respectively, winning the Female category with a total of 163 points. DASGS were second with 120 points, while DTVE placed third with 67 points.
The order was similar in the Male category. Sport Science was first with 177 points, the DASGS second on 139 points, and the DTVE third with 82 points.
