Fifteen selected for Carifta Games 2026
A 15-member team of nine males and six females will represent St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the 2026 Carifta Games in St. George’s, Grenada from April 4-6.
Dominated by field athletes, the males include J’aivar Cato, Under- 20 long jumps and triple jump; Ethan Kent, Under-17 high jump; Evonte Nimblett , Under-17 high jump; Isiah Patterson, Under-20 high jump.
Completing the list of male selectees are Kevonte Pollin, Under-17 javelin; Trevel Sylvan, Under-20 high jump; Joranny Welcome, Under-17 200 meters; Jaheim Williams, Under-20 decathlon; and Jeremiah Wright, Under-17 800 meters and 1500 meters.
The females making the trip are Reine Lau Browne, Under-20 100 meters hurdles; Jada Davis, Under-17 3,000 meters; Tashanique Francis, Under-17 shot putt; Kesian John, Under-20 heptathlon; Ayah Stapleton, Under-17 800 meters and 1,500 meters; and Ariel Stephens, Under-17 triple jump and high jump.
Four selectees, Francis, Cato, John and Williams, have Carifta experience, with Cato attending his fourth Games.
Meanwhile, the team features the youngest Vincentian to be selected to the Carifta Games, in Jada Davis, who turns 13 this year.
Accordingly, Team Athletics SVG had to seek permission from NACAC for her participation as the minimum age is 14 in the year of the championships.
The officials are Rawlson Morgan, Godfrey Harry, Chester Morgan, and Kelesha Ashton-Yorke.
The team will leave St. Vincent and the Grenadines on April 2 , returning one day after the conclusion of the Games on April 7.
