Two more national Track and Field records fall
Vincentian track and field athletes, Uroy Ryan and Lau Browne erased their own records last Friday, March 13, 2026.
Ryan, competing at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championships, at the Randal Tyson Track Centre, Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA, extended the St Vincent and the Grenadines Men’s Indoor Long Jump record, with a leap of 6.04 meters.
He thus added 0.14-m on his previous record of 7.90-m, accomplished on February 27, 2026, when he competed at the NCAA Big 12 Championships in Texas.
Closer home at the Kim Collins Stadium in St Kitts and Nevis, at that country’s Carifta trials, Browne lowered the St Vincent and the Grenadines Under-20 Females’ 100-m Hurdles record.
Running with the main purpose of gaining a spot on the St Vincent and the Grenadines team to the 2026 Carifta Games in Grenada in April,2026, Browne cleared the implements in a time of 14.52 seconds.
That clocking eclipsed her 14.68-s, registered at the Speed Capital Caribbean Invitational & Carifta
Qualifier, on February 21, 2026, in Florida.
Browne’s clocking at the St Kitts and Nevis event, met the qualifying standard as set by Team Athletics SVG- that of 14.55-s.
