Kia Prince earns FIFA Guardians Safeguarding Football Diploma
Safety Officer with the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation (SVGFF) Kia Prince, has earned the FIFA Guardians Safeguarding Football Diploma.
This after completing 70 hours spanning two years, that involved webinars, moderated fora, assessments, and a mandatory residential workshop.
Prince was one of 182 participants who completed the course, and were rewarded at a ceremony in Zurich, Switzerland, on March 11, 2026.
Delighted that she has attained her Diploma, Prince exuded a sense of accomplishment, when she said, “I am honoured to be part of the second cohort of FIFA Guardians.”
Prince, who is a member of the Safe Sports Commission of the SVG Olympic Committee, said she will be putting her training into practice.
“I strongly believe that everyone has the right to participate in Sports without fear of harm or abuse and this training has provided me with establishing a safe sports culture within our federation,” Prince said.
She is expected to apply the curriculum presented during the course that involved basic safeguarding principles, risk assessment, safer recruitment, managing cases, safeguarding in competitions and the digital world.
All national sporting associations, federations or unions, should have in place at least one trained and certified Safety Officer.
