Eleven new records at 2026 Inter- Primary athletic semis
Eleven new records were established at the 2026 Inter-Primary Schools Athletics Championships held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at the Sir Vincent Beache Stadium. Scores of student athletes from primary schools from as far south as Union Island to the northernmost schools in North Leeward and North Windward competed against each other for a spot in the March 25, 2026 NLA Inter- Primary Schools Athletics Championships to take place at the same venue.
Kesron McFee of the Brighton Methodist School set a new record of 11.16 seconds in the Under-11 Boys 80 metres, erasing the old time of 11.20 seconds. He then eliminated the old Under-11 Boys 150 metres time of 21.08 seconds with a new record of 20.77 seconds.
McFee did not stop there, in the Under-11 Boys 300 metres, he ran a new record time of 45.23 seconds, erasing the old time of 45.97 seconds.
In other record-breaking performances on that day, Cliche Pope of the Colonaire Government School ran 10.94 seconds in the Under-13 Girls 80 metres, removing the old time of 11.01 seconds in an event which saw the record times established and re-establish a number of times.
Eddrisha Spring of the Georgetown Government School in the Under-7 Girls 50 metres, ran a new record time of 8.84 seconds, erasing the old time of 8.95 seconds.
In the Under-9 Girls 150 metres, Kate Ollivierre of the Bequia Anglican Primary School ran a new record time of 23.87 seconds, removing the old time of 24.06 seconds from the books.
Sky Caine of the Georgetown Government School set a new record time of 20.46 seconds in the Under-13 Girls 150 metres of 20.46 seconds, erasing the old time of 20.64 seconds.
A new record time of 13.74 seconds was set by Diasha Browne of the Sion Hill Government School in the Under-7 Girls 80 metres, shaving 4-hundreths of a second from the old record of 13.74 seconds.
Kai Baptiste of the Colonaire Government School re-wrote the record in the Under-9 Boys 80 metres, removing the old mark of 12.11 seconds with a new time of 12.08 seconds.
The Kingstown Preparatory School’s Under-11 Girls 4×80 metres team ran a new record time of 47.14 seconds, relegating the old time of 47.60 seconds to historical memory.
Then in dramatic fashion, the Georgetown Government School’s Under-13 Girls 4×80 metre relay quartet, anchored by Sky Caine, erased the old record which a few minutes earlier was set by the Kingstown Preparatory School’s Under-13 Girls quartet, with a blistering run in a new record time of 44.82 seconds, erasing the minutes-old record of 45.01 seconds.
