Swimmers leave their mark on Gallagher Championships

Ten age group winners were declared when the 2026 Shrewsbury Aquatic Centre SVG Gallagher Invitational Championships took place from February 26 to March 1.

Winning the Girls 8 and Under title was Sarai Williams of the Black Sands Swim Squad (BSSS), with Blue Marlins Swim Club’s Jace Thomas taking the Boys title.

Taking the Girls 9-10 was BSSS’ Ira Hadley, with Blue Marlins’ Zid Toney securing the boys segment.

Blue Marlins bossed the 11-12 age category as Skylar Byron topped for the girls, and Saj Caesar, the boys.

The 13-14 titles were shared, as Belle Adams of Blue Marlins won the girls, and BSSS’ Kione De Shong won for the boys.

The same was the case in the 15 and Over, as BSSS’ Eltonique Leonard won the girls title with the boys title taken by Hazen Dabriel of Blue Marlins.

With a tally of 1455 points, Blue Marlins continued their winning streak of the Invitational Championships, which started in 2023, thus making it their four straight lien on the title.

Blue Marlins won the National Swim Championships in 2024, and repeated the feat in 2025.
