Greene leaves her mark on US Swim championships
Pouching six medalsthree individual and three relays was Vincentian, Kennice Greene’s input to the University of North Carolina’s swim team’s repeat of the Conference Carolinas Championships.
Greene and her teammates topped the championships, the third in a rowwhich ended on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the Kingsport Aquatic Centre, Tennessee, USA.
For Greene, it was another good outing, as she personally grabbed one silver and two bronze medals.
Her best showing was in the 50 yards freestyle, as she took silver, clocking 23.99 seconds.
In the 100 yards freestyle, Greene took bronze in 52.76 seconds. Her other bronze came in the 100 yards backstroke, stopping the clock at 59.59 seconds.
Greene also helped in establishing a new school record in the 400 yards freestyle. The quartet timed 3:28.44 to ink their name in the institution’s history books.
Greene’s relay bronze medals came in the 200 yards medley and the 400 yards medley.
A national swimmer, Greene has represented St Vincent and the Grenadines at various regional and international swim championships, including the OECS, Carifta, Pan Am Juniors, Pan Am Games, World Aquatics Champions, and the Olympics among others.
