Barrouallie Secondary takes Leeward championships title again
THE BARROUALLIE Secondary School won the 2026 All Leeward Secondary School Athletics Championships on Sunday February 22, 2026 at the Cumberland Playing Field, making it their ninth consecutive win.
With a total of 356 points, the Barrouallie Secondary School took the gold position, followed by the Troumaca-Ontario Secondary School in the silver position with 246 points. The bronze position was taken by the Petit Bordel Secondary School with 171 points, and the fourth placed school was the Buccament Bay Secondary School with 105 points. Only four schools registered for the championship. Barrouallie Secondary School’s victory was cemented by six individual champions, led by Jada Davis the Junior Division female champion who amassed 18 points.The other champions were Carla Bennett and Aria Carter each with 18 points and who emerged joint Intermediate Division female champions; Henley Bushay the Intermediate Division male champion with 27 points; Ayah Stapleton the open Division female champion with nine points; and Omari John the open Division male champion also with nine points.
Travon Laborde of the Petit Bordel Secondary School emerged as the Junior Division champion with 27 points; Nyra Deshong of the Troumaca- Ontario Secondary School with 21 points was the senior Division’s female champion with 21 points; and Javel DaSilva of the Buccament Bay Secondary School with 16 points, was the male champion in the senior Division.
The Barrouallie Secondary School has won the title since the inaugural meet on March 9, 2017.The All Leeward Athletics Meet is a developing track and field event designed to showcase talent in the secondary schools from the Leeward side of the mainland island.
