Heatseekers take National title as SVG Basketball Federation concludes 2025 Championships
HEATSEEKERS OF Arnos Vale grabbed the title as the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Basketball Federation (SVGBF) concluded the 2025 National Basketball Championship on Sunday, December, 21 2025.
In what the Federation said was a successful season Bequia United faced off against Arnos Vale Heatseekers in the closely contested final which Heatseekers won 84–82, thus securing the 2025 National Championship Title and capping off an electrifying tournament.
In third position was PlayazYouth Academy Sunday’s closing ceremony also recognized outstanding performances and exemplary sportsmanship throughout the competition, the Federation said in a release.
Special awards were presented to Jermaine John of Bequia United who was MVP of tournament and best defensive player; Zane Walsh of Playaz Leo Lions, most improved player; Elroy Joseph of Heatseekers for MVP of finals; and Sion Hill Pacers as the most disciplined team.
Minister of Youth and Sports, Kaschaka Cupid, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fitzgerald Bramble were in attendance at the event. The SVGBF said it looks forward to maintaining a good working relationship with the Ministry of Sport for the advancement of basketball in the country.
Federation President, Suzette Jackson, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the championship, highlighting the players, referees, sponsors, supporters and basketball fans for their dedication and unwavering support throughout the tournament.
She also thanked the St. Vincent and the Grenadines National Olympic Committee (NOC) for their financial contributions in the 2025 championship and other basketball activities.
Jackson, as stated in the release, looks forward to the continued growth and bright future of basketball in St.Vincent and the Grenadines, and cites this, the first national tournament in more than 10 years, as a huge stepping stone for future competitions.
