Theon Gordon enthusiastic about transferring new football knowledge
THE STVINCENT AND the Grenadines Football Federation’s Director for Technical Matters, Theon Gordon, aims to maximise his knowledge acquired from completing the FIFA Technical Leadership Diploma course.
Gordon was among 22 participants comprising the second cohort of the course that started in April, 2024 and ended earlier this month in Zurich, Switzerland.
“The knowledge gained through the FIFA Technical Development Diploma will be applied to strengthen our pathways, develop our communities, our clubs, coaches and players to ensure Football in St Vincent and the Grenadines is built on solid, long-term foundations,” an enthusiastic Gordon said.
He identified the core areas of the course- technical leadership, coach education, amateur football, management and High Performance, that he aims to apply on home soil.
“The completion of the FIFA Technical Leadership Diploma represents a significant step in strengthening the technical leadership of the SVGFF,” Gordon told SEARCHLIGHT.
“ The Federation remains committed to applying the best global best practice with a strong local context, using football as a vehicle for development, opportunity, and national pride,” he pointed out.
“This programme reinforced the sustainable Football development is not built on short-term success, but on a clear vision, strong systems and empowered people,” said Gordon who has been Director of Technical Matters of the SVGFF since August, 2021.
During the course, Gordon and the other participants were required to explore and dissect the diversities of football in Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, as well as Germany.
