Fitz Hughes, GHS, TSSS win Schools’ Netball titles
THE FITZ HUGHES Government; the Girls’ High School (GHS); and Thomas Saunders Secondary School (TSSS), took the respective titles when the 2025 Zess Cola Schools’ Netball competitions concluded last Saturday, December 13, at the Kingstown Netball Centre.

Fitz Hughes Government shut out Canouan Government to win the Primary Schools’ Division.
The MVP of Saturday’s final was Aaliyah Nero of the new champion school.
Nero also collected the most goals award; she scored 81 goals from 125 attempts.
On the day of finals, Miley Carter of Fitz Hughes Government was named the best defender, and Mickayla Compton of Canouan Government, the best midcourt player. Meanwhile, the Girls’ High School continued its reign as Junior Division champions.
Successfully defending their title, the Girls’ High School defeated Petit Bordel 41-28.
The GHS was led by MVP of the final and the top goal scorer in the competition, Olivia John.
Also aiding the all-female institution’s retention of the title was Pheobe Ferdinand, who secured the best mid-court player award.
Adjudged the best defender in the final was Elrica Francis of the Petit Bordel Secondary School.
In the senior division, Thomas Saunders outdid the Barrouallie Secondary to again hold the title in that division with a 45-21 win.
Thomas Saunders also pouched the awards adjudicated on the day. Juneka Quow was named best defender, while Amunique Edwards was voted the MVP of the final and the best mid-court player. Kyle Lewis of the Emmanuel High School, Mesopotamis, copped the most goals award for registering 73 of her 99 attempts during the competition.
