Canouan Government makes football statement

AFTER KNOCKING AT the door for the past years, footballers from the Canouan Government School have finally made a breakthrough.

This when the institution trounced Questelles Government, 2-0 in the final played last Sunday at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field, to take the 2025 Zess Cola Inter- Primary Schools’ title.

Playing before a sparse group of spectators, Sahin Jack and Quinton Mayers scored on either side of the half to ensure their school had something more to celebrate over the festive Christmas season.

Canouan thus bossed all the awards adjudicated in the final.

Eaton Edwards was voted the best goalkeeper; Kamar Allen, the best defender; and Sahin Jack the best midfielder and MVP of the final.

Meanwhile, Logan Gill of the Kingstown Preparatory School was the competition’s top goal scorer; he netted 21 goals.
