CARICOM recognises Vincentian designer, Kimya Glasgow
THE CARIBBEAN COMMUNITY (CARICOM), has recognised Vincentian designer, Kimya Glasgow as one of 56 Caribbean women shaping STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) under the regional campaign HERizon: CARICOM Women Shaping STEAM.
The initiative, led by the CARICOM Girls in ICT (CGICT) Partnership, was launched on World Children’s Day November, 20 2025, under the theme My Day, My Rights, highlighting the importance of STEAM education as a fundamental right and a driver of the Caribbean’s digital and sustainable future, states a release from Glasgow, who is the Founder and Creative Director of Kimya Glasgow Designs Inc.
Glasgow has made her contribution to the creative industries through fashion, sustainability and innovation, representing the “Arts” pillar of STEAM and the role of design, cultural storytelling and entrepreneurship in regional development.
“Being recognised by CARICOM is deeply affirming not just for me, but for the creative sector as a whole. Women are leading the Caribbean region forward in powerful ways,” Glasgow is quoted in the release as stating.
Kimya Glasgow Designs Inc. is a Caribbean fashion and lifestyle brand rooted in culture, craftsmanship and sustainability. The brand is known for blending Caribbean identity with contemporary design, ethical production and innovative storytelling, the release further states.
