Vincy Heat loses first match in Concacaf Friendly Series
ST. VINCENT ANDTHE Grenadines’ senior Football team, Vincy Heat was beaten 2-0 by the Dominican Republic on Wednesday night, November,12 2025, at the Cibao Stadium in Santiago, in Group A of the Concacaf Friendly Series.
The host scored in the 17th minute via Heinz Morschel and in the 57th minute from Erick Japa.
St Vincent and the Grenadines missed a penalty in the 52nd minute as captain, Oalex Anderson, failed to convert from the spot.
Also on the night in Group A, Cuba blanked St Lucia 3-nil.
Vincy Heat next meets St Lucia on Saturday, November 15, and the same venue in the two-game friendly.
Twenty- three players and nine officials left for the Dominican Republic last Monday, November 10, 2025, to play in the Concacaf Friendly Series.
The players selected are: Josh Stowe, Najima Burgin, Nigel Charles, Tristan Marshall, Kennijha Joseph, Addeen Charles, Diel Spring, Tevin Thompson, Bishon Richards, Steven Pierre, Kirtney Franklyn, Malcolm Stewart, Azihno Solomon, Jomari Lynch, Cori Durrant- Barbour, Chad Haynes, Oalex Anderson, and Cornelius Stewart.
Also making the trip are Tarriq Small, JomalYorke, Lemus Christopher, Micah Joseph, and Kyle Edwards.
Ezra Hendrickson is the Head Coach, with his assistants being Wayde Jackson, Cornelius Huggins, and Shandell Samuel, with Ortis Blackette as goalkeeper/ coach. Dominique Stowe is the team’s manager’; Dilonie Sam, fitness trainer; Dwight Richards, team doctor; Michael Stowe, physiotherapist. Rolando Lewis is the representing the executive of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation.
The Friendly Series has been organized for Concacaf teams which did not make to the final round of the World Cup Qualifiers. Cuba and Martinique are also part of this group. The next round of matches takes place in March, 2026.
