Bentick continues his hold on Penang Masters Squash title

FOR THE THIRD successive year,Vincentian, James Bentick has bucketed the Over-55 age group at the Penang Masters Squash title in Malaysia- November 7-9, 2025 with a spotless display at the Nicol David International Squash Centre.

In the process, Bentick comfortably defeated all who faced him.

Bentick first saw off Gary Wong in straight sets, 11-5, 11-6, 11-6 in the quarter finals.

Competing against ChowYut Hong in the semi-finals, Bentick again won easily 11-2, 11-5, 11-3.

The grand finale was a similar tale, as Bentick stopped Tan Tian Huat 11-9, 11-5, 11-6.

Reflecting on his win, Bentick said, “ I achieved this and I’m extremely happy with my performance”.

Underlining the fact that he won the title without dropping a set, Bentick added, “I have defended this title without dropping a single game throughout the event. This was one of my  goals. It’s not just about winning, it’s about showing consistency and dominance”.

Bentick dedicated his win to a longstanding friend, Kobie Khan, who died recently.

The multiple winner in Malaysian Squash Championships , Bentick referred to Khan as his “ son”.
