Past students outfit Layou Government School Athletes
When the Layou Government School appears at the 2026 Inter-Primary Schools’ Athletics Championships, their athletes will be decked in spanking new apparel.
Making that possible are two former students of the school- Kabon Sampson and Chester Morgan.
The duo combined to supply the school with 60 track suits, 60 running vests and tights, as well as 60 physical education shirts.
Apart from being a past student of the Layou Government School, Sampson is a former national middle-distance runner. He is part of the longstanding St Vincent and the Grenadines 4 x 400m record setting team at the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996. The other members of that quartet are Eversley Linley, Eswort Coombs and Joel Mascol.
Meanwhile, Morgan is the current technical director of Team Athletics SVG, head coach of the High Performance Track Club, and Physical Education Teacher at the Barrouallie Secondary School.
Morgan told SEARCHLIGHT that the plan is to make such donations to their alma mater on an annual basis.
