Mitres makes history as inaugural Semi-Pro Netball Champions
Mitres Netball Team wrote their name into local netball history, when they captured the inaugural Semi-Professional Netball League title on Wednesday night at the Kingstown Netball centre, with a hard-fought 58/ 46 victory over X-Ceed Sports Club.
“Tonight’s game was one filled with skill and determination. With Mitres being my team, I don’t want to answer with any biases, but patience was the key word and Mitres’ defense was on point and they maintained their composure. Overall it was a great game of netball,” president of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association Natasha Baptiste, told SEARCHLIGHT.
She was proud of the efforts of the five competing teams in the semi-professional league, noting that it ignited that spark which is needed in netball in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
