SVG cops single WIFA Women’s award
Dethroned champions, St Vincent and the Grenadines copped a solitary individual award when the 2025 Windward Islands Football Association (WIFA) Women’s Football Tournament ended last Saturday, September, 20, 2025 at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.
The lone recipient was Tishana James, adjudged the best goalkeeper.
Saint Lucia’s Raquel John emerged best defender.
The other awards went to newly minted champions, Barbados who collected a total of four awards.
Taking the best midfielder award was Shanice Stephenson, while Ashanee Thompson was named the player of the final. Riana Cyrus was the top goal scorer with six goals.
Barbados also copped the fair play award. Saint Lucia placed second in the tournament, St Vincent and the Grenadines was third, and Dominica, fourth.
Champions Barbados finished with a 3:1 win/loss ratio, with Saint Lucia registering two wins, one draw, and one loss.
St Vincent and the Grenadines who won the last tournament in 2019, ended the 2025 re-start with two wins, one draw, and one loss.
Dominica lost all four of their matches.
